You all, who have been with us from the very beginning of Design By Dalia know that the entire history of the equestrian brand began with just one lacy shirt model. Taking this into account, over the years, we have improved designs and models so that customers feel in shirts not only unique and feminine, but also extremely comfortable. All shirts undergo tests, and the selection of fabrics and details is always meticulous to ensure comfort.

Due to the number of requests for help in choosing equestrian clothing, we decided to create the guide on what should be followed when buying a riding shirt.

One of the most important aspects to consider when choosing an equestrian shirt is the weather.
What season is we currently having and what
season is ahead of us?

When it comes to summer, competition shirts with short or medium sleeves are the best choice for most riders. For people who, however, start only in long sleeves, we recommend choosing a more airy one, i.e. mesh inserts or lacy sleeves.
Among these models, light colors will be the best choice, as dark colors absorb more light than light ones.

Colors such as "deep" colors such as:
dark green, dark purple, maroon or navy blue will become more and more hot in full sun.

As for the basis weight, the material should not be thicker than approx. 270 g / m.
During the summer, every detail of the shirt counts due to the fact that we can compete without a show jacket and everything is exposed.
You can shine when it comes to the sleeves, as well as the yoke and stand-up collar. Depending on whether you are wearing a protective vest or not.

Lace sleeves will always be a beautiful accent and will add charm to the whole outfit.

Okay, what if the weather is different?
When it comes to spring and fall, the weather is often unpredictable, so a medium or long sleeve will probably be better for most girls.

In the case of spring it will not matter, but in autumn we should especially look for fabrics that are easy to wash and resistant to dirt.
The color of the shirt in this case does not matter much, so a question will help when choosing
"What are the colors of saddle pads?"
or "What color is my show jacket?"

Lace and mesh are perfect for spring / fall, so don't be afraid to experiment.
However, when it comes to winter, the rules are quite the opposite. The materials can be a bit thicker to keep you warm. For winter, we recommend velor shirts, and all of them in colder and darker colors. In winter, it is also worth thinking about the option to compete in turtleneck or Active Body under which we can put another layer.

Regarding the appearance, it is worth paying attention to the fact that the front of the shirt should be decorative, because, as we know, in winter we mainly compete in equestrian show jackets, which means that you will only see the top of the shirt and of course the flower / Design By Dalia, logo on the stand-up collar;)
So we explained how important it is to take into account the weather and your needs before choosing clothes. But what if we can choose only one shirt? We advise that the best solution will be a shirt with medium length sleeves. When it comes to colors, light ones such as white, beige, blue, lavender or gray will work in every situation. Must-have in every rider’s wardrobe is the LANA shirt available in as many as 7 colors.

A wide range of colors allows you to create a dream  outfit with items that you already have in your wardrobe.
LANA is a shirt for every situation! The medium sleeve is a solution for both hot and winter days. We have combined our best-selling lace with a sporty, breathable, light fabric, created in Italy for the needs of the most demanding customers.
The fabric is dirt-repellent and dries quickly. Which is an important aspect not only when it comes to washing, but also to sweat on hot days.
These were our tips for competition shirts and what to consider when choosing. If you have any other ideas or tips on what to look for, please feel free to email us. We are always open to your comments.
